If you are active-duty military, a veteran or a surviving military spouse, you may be eligible to get a VA home loan.
The VA’s home loan program is designed to help veterans become homeowners. The VA does not actually lend the money to the veteran, but instead provides a home loan guaranty to the banks with whom they partner.
VA home loans may be used to buy, build, adapt, retain, or repair a home for a veteran’s own personal use. The VA loan is given by private lenders such as mortgage companies and banks with the VA guaranteeing a portion of the loan. This allows the lender to provide the veteran with more favorable loan terms.
